Even after the horsemeat scandal, they're still mislabelling.

8% Of meat products tested in Scotland were not accurately described.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/scotland

No reason to suppose the figure is different in the rrst of the UK.

Sloppy production - makes you wonder what else creeps in.

One wonders if you would be quite so sanguine if you were a Jew or Muslim.

Yes and a lot of Hindus avoid beef. Some people buy chicken products to avoid red meat...

We should get what we pay for, not some random meaty lottery.

I doubt you would be quite so accepting of meat from knackers yards.

Something else that happens all too frequently.

Nor will well mixed tissue paper, chalk or sawdust, all of which has been used for "bulking" in the past, but it is not something I would choose to eat, or to pay for.

Personally, I prefer not to eat horse, dog, rat or knackers meat.

Then again, that sort of labelling fraud happens mainly with soggy, slimy processed foods, which I never buy.

For the free-range farm to sell me a bit of horse, instead of lamb, would not be too easy.
