The current Met Office forecast is 3 degrees (for 10.00 am) but I have just had to open all the windows, fire up the fans and shut down the heating (which admittedly came on for the early morning chill), and am lying here semi-naked.

Perhaps they ought to turn their air conditioning off and try the actual not predicted, conditions for a change!

Huge area of high pressure covering most of the Atlantic, right up to the North Pole of Scotland :)

Very mild here, rained all night, gentle and steady. A really dry summer in this 'ere neck of the woods. Since mid-May rained 'properly' perhaps four times.

'They' tell us that due to the lack of rain the likes of spuds and other UK grown foodstuffs are going to cost more. It was suggested that chippy chips might double in price - well around here a portion of chips is enough to feed a family of four so perhaps they could reduce the amount of spuds instead of increasing the price.

Occasionally get fish and chips from the local Chinese takeaway in the village. Thick white fish, very very fresh, in a light golden batter and ooooooooodles of chips.

They don't call it 'cod', just - fish and chips - I imagine it is whiting, coley or pollock, all fine and sustainable fish.

We have ordered one fish and chips, three extra fish and Chinese veggies and there were enough chips for everyone.
:smiles:
