Anyone else been watching the Bodyguard series which finished last night. Good TV which pulled in a great audience.

Another excellent series I have just finished watching on Catch Up is Killing Eve.

Two excellent productions with the promise of more to come.

Watched the first ten minutes of the first episode, then realised I couldn't understand what the were mumbling about, even with headphones, so never watched any more.

Decent sound engineers seem to be a thing of the past.

I often complain about the sound quality of programmes, but had no problem with The Bodyguard. A couple of incidents perhaps, but nothing to put me off.

Continuous complaints about modern 'drama' being dark and mumbled. Cost is usually the reason. Once upon a time dialogue was recorded separately, in an audio booth with the actors lip syncing.

Seems to me if somebody is trying to tell me a story, with the screen almost black and each word mumbled, what is the point?

Would be like reading a book with black text on black pages.

Much to my annoyance , because I wasn't watching it , I could hear every word. I have the TV set adjusted for clear speech because my wife's hearing is poor

You should watch Killing Eve, it's certainly on a par with Bodyguard.

I watched it. Great series.

Seen the first two Killing Eve episodes. There are certainly some good series on at the moment - about time too!

I agree that sometimes, actors seem to mutter and mumble - not my hearing, I can hear other things fine. The answer to muttering is.... subtitles!

They are very helpful......but not when they are out of sync with what's being said, as is so often the case.

Does Netflix show free stuff too? I didn't know that.

I'll have to give it a try.

If a drama, filum or any programmes are so badly recorded to need subtitles, I don't bother.

Well, perhaps I am after all, as I've given up on Killing Eve.

I have nothing against lesbians, just as I don't against heteros, but I don't wish to see them making love in my sitting room just as I don't want to see heteros doing it.

We've downloaded the whole of Killing Eve. Watched the first episode last evening, and binge watching tonight, up to Ep 4 so far.

Don't have a problem with either Lesbian or Hetero scenes, it's just background on the characters. Might have one more tonight and rest tomorrow. Episode that it! :madclap:

Watched Bodyguard and enjoyed it, but not sure on the one that started tonight "The Cry" back and forward like a VHS video back in the day.
