Re: Smoking

Given that smokers blow out whilst smoking, should we social distance them by more than two metres? Seems logical that if they have the virus but no symptoms yet then blowing will spread it further than a normal breath.

Re: A New Global 'Flu'?

Clapping is a fine gesture. Providing frontline medical personnel with protective clothing, desperately needed testing kits and many other essential supplies, might be more helpful. The Government has told us now that millions of items of PPE have arrived at hospitals. Surely a more valid statistic...

There's an app for Apple's that is supposed to be compatible with Excel, and it's free, so it's worth giving it a try.

Re: So Boris tests positive for Covid-19

Stormy There were no cases in the first batch that came to The Wirral, but there were some in the second batch. I'm sure it's totally coincidental that nearly all of the Covid19 deaths in Merseyside have been on Wirral. Gazman It's not just air travel though, it's any movement of people across borde...

Lady Wirral and I usually go along to one of the local Pubs maybe 2 evenings a week for an hour around 6ish. We enjoy this, so today we decided to have Pub Inn. We have a table on our landing and we set up a table on there. We used glasses we don't normally use with any drinks in house, poured out d...

In at least one of our local Supermarkets there have been reports of items being stolen from the trolley for contributions to a food bank.

Now we know how low they'll stoop!

Scotty I accept what you say except that it's more of an endemic rather than a pandemic. We have a choice of alcohol, though that choice is much harder for some and they need support. On the other hand we as individuals because even if we follow all the recommendations we could all ready have been e...

Gunner, you could put a batch together and send them via wetransfer.com where you relatives will get an email and a link telling them they have 7 days to download the photos.

I find the free version perfectly adequate, and it's much better than Dropbox.

Re: The Brexit negotiations have started

To continue with the analogy, we deserved or sentence in the EU with good behaviour. We've more than paid our debt to society ( for going in to it in the first place) and now we're in a rehabilitation period before our final release.

For some that sort of fits what is (finally) happening.

Lighthouse,
Perhaps the transition period can be regarded as the UK being released on licence from the prison of the EU?

The Eurozone economy is flatlining, latest growth figure is 0.1% growth. Part of the reason may well be that the pre-Brexit uncertainty there's been in the UK has had an even bigger effect in those Countries.

I wonder if the precocious Greta will get round to a real solution to the Worlds problems? Will she ever suggest her generation vow to cut back on procreation to reduce population and so conserve resources and produce less pollution rather than blaming previous generations?

Fat chance! Sadly.
