Yesterday I sowed grass seed in the front garden where I have built up the ground to level up with the new iron railings that are able to slide back to allow for car parking. (I don't have any intention of parking in the the front garden but with the way the road is getting full of parked cars I ma...

The old Baby Belling took a lot of beating. The oven worked well, the hob was a bit slow but the grill did toast to perfection. https://foodheroesandheroines.wordpress.com/2012/04/06/2-charles-reginald-belling1884-1965/ Much in use , in a disgusting state of hygiene, in RAF crewrooms throughout the...

Yes I was watching the news this morning about Tom Watson and found my chin was resting on my chest. No opportunity lost by the Labour party to screw everything up I muttered to myself. (I thought the burnt out pier in the background rather amusing and sad at the same time, so appropo!) There are si...

" it " Not it but they. ‘It’ is dehumanising. Would you treat a tiny child differently depending on gender if you knew it? Some would. From a man's point of view when being subjected to someone else's baby, (often with the child being thrust into my rather unwilling arms with comments lik...

Oddly enough I often wish there had been a large majority to Remain. It would have saved the most ridiculous pantomime of the past three years, all the uncertainty, If you just wait a little while, you will probably get your wish. leaving the EU is never going to go away. There are far too many peo...

It depends on what you intend to cook. In general modern fixed ovens are much more efficient than they once were. Mine heats up to full temperature (180C) in 4 minutes and its outer parts never get hot even after hours of cooking. It is substantially more efficient than my previous cooker/oven made ...

The garden is starting to look a little tired with all the sun we have been having. The hydrangeas not only have brown flowerheads all over them but have also started to put on more growth for another lot of blooms. The single clump of miniature chrysanthemums is looking its best ever. Yesterday I s...

I was looking forward to another series that was a reminder of the past but this isn't it! What it does remind me of is the fact that Jane Austen was a really good writer and her association with this series is an insult. For anyone not au fait with Jane's original unfinished story, it was all told ...

I get roundly fed up with that attitude. Let's face it, a lot of those who voted Leave were, if not thick, wilfully ignorant, gullible and massively ill-informed which, given their suspension of intelligence (where they ever possessed such) goes a long way to explain why we are where we are. https:...

I considered myself very lucky as a child. My dad had comics delivered every weekday with his newspaper. On some days I had two! Fridays was sometimes not so good because The Topper was the only comic issued that day and even for me it seemed light-weight. :wink3: It had some good free gifts though....

So, when a crowd is scanned, and if the scan is kept, someone will go through that scan so as to add all to a data base for future reference. I really can't see a purpose. Certainly if someone is acting strange it might "catch the eye" but to keep and check each and every scan, seems a li...

Those in the same crowd who have never committed an offence will not be identity so will be eliminated. Or are you saying all images will be stored. If so how will any of them be of use because they will not be identify. But the innocent faces in the crowd will be identified. The police or any othe...
